Notions: One long prong metal snap per pad (all four parts), thread.
Ballpoint or Stretch needles are recommended, as well as quilt clips
for use with waterproof materials to prevent leaks.
Fabric Suggestions
PrettyPads can be created from scraps or you can use approximately
1/2 yard of each fabric type to make 4-6 pads depending on the size of
pad being made, the width of the material, and the absorbency being
created.
A top cover can be made from Microfleece for a stay-dry feel, or from
any soft comfortable knit or flannel fabric. The bottom cover can be
from a coordinating similar material or a pretty woven print if
desired as well since it will not be touching the skin.
You will need a soaker absorbent material, Hemp Fleece is the
recommended fabric for the internal soaker, however, burley knit
terry, sherpa would work as well.
Depending on the style and absorbency being made you will also need a
waterproof layer, 2mil PUL is recommended. Flannel is suggested for
the hidden layer in most absorbencies.
For All-Gussied Up you will need lightweight WindPro fleece for
the gussets. You will also need 12" - 15" of polybraid or cotton
swimwear elastic.
